Intro to Structural Integration

This class offers an introduction into the world of Structural Integration (SI). Developed by Ida Rolf in the 1940’s, SI (often referred to as Rolfing) works with the fascia to balance the body in gravity. Topics include:

  • Body Reading

  • Fascia

  • Body Mechanics

  • Stroke Dynamic, Direction and Intention

  • Gravity

You will learn a session formula for an SI informed treatment session that includes

  • standing visual assessment

  • prone, supine and sideline fascial work

  • client movement techniques to facilitate fascial glide

  • Ease and comfort in your own body

Please note, this is an introductory level class.

You will not be certified as a Structural Integrator or able to claim you practice Structural Integration after taking this class.

About your instructor

Loni McKenzie, SI, CASP, LMT

Loni graduated from the Soma Institute of Structural Integration in 2001, completed her Advanced Certification in 2005, Teacher Training in 2007, and was Assistant to the Director from 2002-2006.

Alongside a full-time bodywork practice, she teaches entry level touch at Columbia River Institute and offers CE classes in her community.

Loni’s continued learning includes extensive Pre and Perinatal training, Nerve and Artery Mobilization, Craniosacral and a 4-year apprenticeship at the School of Herbal Wisdom and Divine Wonder, where she studied the art of pulse taking, community herbalism, and… so much more.

She’s currently working her way through a 140-hour Visceral Manipulation training with Jeffrey Burch and continues to be delighted at how much there is to learn about bodywork!
